Albums
Toto’s discography comprises 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed, members of the band played sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.
Turn Back, Toto’s third studio album, was criticized by critics due to lacking hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group and the group held auditions for the new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old tapes and demos to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was well received by fans and the band went on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour and an interview with the band.

The group Toto is best known for their hit single “Africa”, recently joined forces for a tour to promote their new album, All In. The album debuted on November 6, 2018, and included three brand new tracks from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, as well as recorded versions of four older tracks that featured Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass.
